I know it can be both a familiar and an animal companion, but isn't one entry enough for it? ;)

It was a difficult decision. I chose the second panther.. I'm sure they are both nice animals.

Raven. Yea, they suck, but they sure look cool.
For powergaming purposes outside of Avlis, I prefer the psuedodragon.

Pixie, pixie!
They are fun, and they light your day... even if they don't keep darkness at bay.

I had no idea until now that dire rats and badgers are companion options.

That is my opinion, not nessasarily anyone else's opinon, might just be, but that would be a coincodence, and damnit, sometimes the crap I write is not even my opinion either.

Did the eyeball actually do anything? With the new familiar buffing code, we may see familiars being used a lot more I hope.. :)

Brown Bears are the most effective combat companions

Borebor the Brown fully buffed would eat Danmar within a second ... too bad hes dead ;)

besides: bears are my favorite animals.
I levelled through heavy lag once (lvl 16 i guess) and wasnt pleased to see a badger appear by my side. Had to convince Ed through tells to kill Daria just to lose the level to get my bear back (metagaming i know .. but no dm was present - IC this never ever happened).

So you know my vote now

I remember Quick and a certain disreputable gnome looking in vain for the TNanshi Giant Hairless Beaver once...what a familiar that would make...

Got to go for the Pseudodragon here. I don't know why more people don't have them. Once they get their breath weapon, watch out! Plus its really fun watching them kill all those little crop rats when they are hungry.
