Am I the only person left in the world that hasn't read a Harry Potter book or seen the movies?

Nope ... you're not ....

I had no idea what a harry potter was until my nephew brought one of the movies over and watch it incessenently ....

Now; I have a vauge idea what a harry potter is .... although I still have never seen a book of his.

Am I missing out on large blocks of life by being in on-line gaming so much of the time?

((oh .. and as I have little knowledge of what harry potter is ... i opted not to vote on this))

Alright, here's the scoop.

For those of you who are big Potter fans, you need to read this book. Ignore the rumors, go buy it somehow, read the book.

For those of you interested, but not huge fans, I will say I thought it was extremely well-written. Yes, it is long, and does drag in one or two spots, but well worth it in the end.

For those of you who aren't fans nor interested, but want to know the end, scroll down.

Further...

Sheesh, as if! You think I would give away the end of a book?!? Not likely. You lot can wait for the movie to come out, just like all the other illiterates.

Here, a teaser for you.

I wasn't going to buy into the hype, I swore to myself I wouldn't...but I went to Costco Saturday morning and saw about 300 copies on display for $18 and I caved.

It could've been about 50-60 pages shorter....and I thought it was alright. I also had this feeling that JKR started writing towards adults in the last few books and the material became more and more mature of the series (yes, for all you fanatics, I realize that a 17 year old has more mature issues than an 11 year old) but what started out as a light-hearted children's series wound up a little morbid for your average elementary-aged children.

The pre-last one had even me interested. :) I hope the last one is worth it.

Well worth the wait

Some parts of the ending were a shock and some were not.

For those who have not yet read the book, I am not going to reveal the ending - but this is going to be a great film

I finished reading it last night, after buying it Sunday afternoon. I couldn't put it down.

All I can say is: Kickass, and chapter 33 rocks so much it's unfunny.

What is a Harry Potter ?
Is it edible ?
Will it blend ?

Bought it, read it, totally worth it. Some great plotlines in the book, some really nice plottwists, also some things that I didnt expect. All wrapped up very well, and done quite convincing. I like how it turns darker and darker, it gives a good line of development through the books.

Hmm......I guess maybe I'll have to read the rest of them after all. I didn't jump to read the ones that weren't out yet when I read the first four--which took me a while to do because I despise hype. Not snobbery or anything, it just gets on my nerves. Sounds like I should finish the series, though, if you guys liked it so much.

It is supposed to be a kids book, ya know. And the losses were bad enough, I thought.

Agreed, I was surprised at all the people who kicked it. She wasn't afraid of killing them off that's for sure.

Strangely enough, one of them upset me more than any of the others.

No spoilers, but it wasn't a person.
