Tinkering/Creating new Classes/Items

So... I'm interested in working with some of the avlis/copap psionics haks; specifically, I want to tinker with the (technical) PrC itself, some of the feats, and maybe try my hand at a few custom items, just to get my feet wet. The problem, though, is that I don't have any clue where to start.

I've downloaded MrNathan's latest Psionics .hak/module, and I've extracted a few of the files from avlis_main. Is there some kind of basic tutorial, website, or whatever that could get me going in the right direction?

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks! :)

Since this post was back in March you may have figured this out by now, but do a search on spellhooking. There was a decent amount on the NWN boards about it. That'd probably get you started. Alternately, just look at a psionic power and start changing stuff like the VFX or something simple.
