What is it?
The purpose of this system is fairly simple; to provide a framework through which players might share details about their character's goals, values and beliefs with the team. This is so that DMs can rapidly inform themselves of characters they intend to be DMing and can better tailor a narrative to a particular PC's values or goals. This is not a request for dm attention. Submitting to this database is not a guarantee that any of it will be actualised, it's to let the team know what your character is working towards.
How does it work?
Simple! You answer the questions and PM the answers to the Dungeon Masters. Make sure the PM is titled 'CGD: ~Insert Character's Name Here~'. Your answers get stored teamside as a reference for all DMs.
When do I get all the sick requests I made?
This is not a request system. Nothing is guaranteed. It is a system to allow for the opportunity for a narrative to be tailored to your PC; it is not a promise that one will be.
How much do I write? What does this question really ~mean~?
As much or as little as you like. Skip a question, give one word answers, write a novel (please don't actually write a novel). The more information, the more there is to work with. The questions are left vague intentionally. Answer as you feel appropriate.
But my character changes over time! Wont these answers trap me in boxes forever?
Nope! The date gives a reference for how long ago this was a record of your PC so a DM will know when to consider a collection of answers out of date AND you may submit a fresh answer sheet whenever you feel appropriate (within, y'know, reason).
Yo, all of this seems pretty legit, but how soon until I get my long term goal of becoming the newest Cha'reth?
No guarantees. No promises. Providing answers MIGHT mean DMs work to provide opportunities for goals to be achieved or desires to be pursued, but it might not. This is just to provide a structured communication system. Also, aim for realistic goals. Ambitious is good, 'replace Mikon and impose a literalistic balance' is not so good.
The Form:
Character Name:
Board Name:
Date:
1. What are your character's core values?
2. What motivates your character?
3. What does your character fear most?
4. What guild and religious affiliations does your PC have?
5. What PC allies or enemies does your character have?
6. What is/are your character's short term goal(s)?
7. What is/are your character's long term goal(s)?
8. What is/are your character's lifetime goal(s)?
So! Fill that in, PM it to the Dungeon Masters and you're away.
