Same here. I'm a 13th level blacksmith, but consider myself a weaponsmith first. Getting from 11 to 12 in weaponsmithing took me probably six to eight months of nothing but mining and collecting ice, and I expect over a year to get to 13. Getting to 13th blacksmith was a cakewalk compared to that.

Wow! I've done just enough crafting to realize how much work it'd take to have 60, 70, 80 levels total, especially as the higher levels in any given trade can be very time-consuming.

Something under 20 levels for my main. If I added in the scattered levels of my alts *sighs* probably another 20. Almost all in Alchemy/Herbalism.

I'm playing a new character, who actually has a dynamic form. So, I'm thinking of Tailoring, since I've never got past the cloth stage. :?

Sapphire has a total of 34 crafting lvls and that is in the past year and three months. Though 10 are in alchemy and 8 in herbalism.

74, make that 81 if we count artificing. That's not too bad I suppose. :D

Oh yeah, I guess I'd have 93-95 if artificing were included. It's been a while since I tried any, so I don't recall my exact level offhand.

Bumping a thread over a year old, but I'm sure there are a bunch of players who would love to know what the numbers are at these days. :igitt:

Since my last post in this thread a page back, I've only gotten maybe 5 or 6 (if that), and no more than 2 in any one craft. You are doing better than me :P

*edits* 71 total. 73 if you count my ranger scribing uberness in artifacing.

I think I've managed a couple of levels in alchemy and getting level 10 in herbalism in the past year... did some smithing, weaponcrafting, and armorcrafting for the heck of it. I think I gained one carpentry level, and tailoring, gemcutting, and jewelcrafting have stayed the same level.

Well, Kraven had 110 levels total in crafting before he got killed. :(

Armor and weapons were his favorite. He was 12th in both of those, but he had more levels in blacksmithing than anything since a lot of things took blacksmith items and it was actualy about the easiest thing to level in.

He started out as a Fegall worshiper so he did a lot of crafting and tried to keep all the crafts at the same level.
I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello?), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice-mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

Where we at today?

I just reached level 5 in Artificing (the only tradeskill on my Cleric). Anyone break 20 in a tradeskill yet?

There might be some 20th blacksmiths around. I don't know what else people have gotten that far in. I'm still at 80 total crafting levels with Smeec (92 if you count artifacing). My carpentry, weaponcrafting, armorcrafting, hearbalism and alchemy levels all suck, and I doubt that will ever change. I never could stay interested in them for long.

I can pull the numbers up, I just have to filter out certain DMs who gave their avatars a ton of crafting XP :) Easy enough.

Stay tuned.

Re: Who are the most advanced crafters?

PostAuthor: othotbail » Tue Mar 02, 2010 3:41 pm

I know of a few crafters in the "Crafting 101" club which essentially means 101 total levels in crafting. Crafting is all tied together in that it is very hard to craft one skill without learning another. Learning a good variety of skills was essential to flourish in a competetive economy. For instance 2 different merchants make and sell arrows. One doesn't know blacksmithing at all and buys his arrowheads. They both have the same carpentry skill. The other mines his own ore and makes his own arrowheads. The miner/blacksmith should always be able to beat the other merchant on price as he doesn't have to pay someone else to do his mining and blacksmithing. Also he doesn't have to rely on another to have his shops shelves stored as RL and other concerns may dry up his mining/blacksmithing source.
My main character got to level 13 or 14 in carpentry until the new crafting system took over now I pretty much just make arrows that I use up myself as I don't have my own shop to sell stuff.
Banana's, they are the force for my colon. They surround and bind everything so even Darth Vader can take a proper dump.

But no 20th levels.
