Who are the most advanced crafters?

PostAuthor: itsabughunt » Thu Jul 27, 2006 12:04 am

I'm curious how far players have taken crafting. What is the highest rank any crafter has achieved in any particular trade? Or what is the highest combined ranks in different trades? Do any of you try to learn every single trade?

I was once doing component gathering for a smith who told me he was in the high teens. He paid me a lot of money for a FOIG that he couldn't get himself, in large quantities of large bags.

Highest combined total that I know of is about 95 levels so far. Myself, I have 90. Highest is blacksmithing, but it's also one of the easiest (it was even easier before they removed certain recipes that bordered on exploits) My favourite is weaponsmithing, at 12 levels. :-)

Al has 93. All skills are at least lvl 7

Joint highest in Carpentry and Blacksmithing at lvl 13.

On a side note, unlike most crafters who now have p-merchants to make it easier to get ingredients, Al has collected pretty much everything hes used by himself, or as part of a group

It's just...the amount of time it takes me to gain a few crafting levels....then I think of the amount RL time yet to be invested if I ever wanted to hit double figures in no particular crafting disclipline, staggers me.

*edit*

ahem, was a little confused....thought we met like 90 levels in a single disclipline....been a long day.

Yeah Cassandros.... i'm guessing hops, leather (from a stag of course) and yeast.

wait wait, back up,

No one is a 90th lvl carpenter, the people here are adding all their crafting levels together to reach that number.

Al said he has 13 levels in carpentry and in blacksmithing, and the rest of his crafts are all over 7.

Yes, it still takes lots of time and energy to reach this level, believe me.

And just so everyone understands this - the 4A does not supply materials to their members for practice. All the materials we buy through our P-merchant are stored and tracked to fill PC customer orders only. Each member is required to provide all their own materials for their practice, which is why you will still see Moira down mining iron, just like everyone else.

I actually meant the player shops rather than the guilds. Places like PE, ROTE, HEAL, and the smaller PC shops.

ACE has a similar rule to the 4A

If thats right, then his AAAA records need some serious updating. He's the one that reads as a total of 95.

86 total here

I wish we had our P-merchant in HEAL .. the update is still pending .. then again we wont be paying as much as ROTE, PE and the others. So we have to gather everything ourselves.

We don't have time to go out collecting ingredients. We're too busy role playing!
Silver Fox: I hear they've been stepping up attacks in Elysia.
Ulu Elexin: Hah, it's interesting that they are even drafting in fairies to fight them now.

Highest is in blacksmithing, level 18. took long time and lots of gold to buy needed ingrediants I couldn't get myself to get to that level.

Blacksmithing is the easiest to advance in, though Gemcutting is probably second. Blacksmithing is different though. It has recipes to work on at higher levels. Something like tailoring ends at 12th for recipes (used to be 11th, with only 1 item to bash your head against the wall on that high up), so you won't see anyone getting past 14 or 15 levels there.

Tailoring is my "main" craft, yet I have more smith levels. As a 15th smith, I'm nothing special, since there are several higher up than that. The tailoring took 10x the effort and time, though it has gotten much easier with the changes over the last year or so.
