What happens when you die?

PostAuthor: Thalion » Mon Aug 05, 2002 7:23 pm

Last night I managed to bite off a bit more than I could chew and was summarily dealt a mortal blow.

I lay there for quite some time, waiting to see what would happen.

In the Single Player game, I would get the option of Respawning or Reloading.

Obviously, I cannot reload a saved game... but what is supposed to happen when a character is killed?

Like I said, I waited around for a while to see what would happen, but since nothing did, I logged off.

Thanks,

Thalion

You hit respawn and go into the death plane of the appropriate alignment. There you can choose to wait for someon to res/raise you OR you can re-enter the world at one of the temples.

How long was a while?

Once you reach 0 or lower HP, (but not lower than -10) you begin dying. At which point you will either recover a point of damage, or lose one every round. If you should happen to reach 0 hit points, you will recover. If you reach -10, which is MUCCCH more likely to happen, you will die and then be presented with the death menu, as Strangg described it.

sounds like a bug in the dying code...

you were knocked down and unconscious but not dead... you are supposed to start the dying process... but apparently you didn't...

no bug. you happened to stablize.
This means that you don't bleed to death , but you can't go anywhere until someone helps you.

Is there an option to die anyway if this happens in case there is no one around to help you? Or will you regain hps slowly?

Well that's a little extreme, sounds like it would leave him effectively permenently paralyzed and unplayable until some kind of help arrives to heal him.
