Using Custom Sub-races

PostAuthor: Daggeth » Sat Jul 20, 2002 3:07 pm

I created an Elven Half-Dryad but did not notice a drop in wisdom or see anything on the character sheet about the spell resistence. I haven't played in a game that supported sub races yet so I'm just curious what I'm doing wrong here.

I spoke with Silk about that yesterday. They will be coding in those changes at a later date.

Actually Half-Dryad and Half-Nymph DO work. But you MUST pick *Half-Elf* as your race and type in the subrace you want in the Subrace spot. If you pick any other race besides Half-Elf it will not work.

I created a half-dryad druid. The character started with SR10 but got a +1 to Wis instead of -1. I killed bandits for a while and just before quitting and after saving the character I notice that the +1 Wis and SR10 are gone. I didn't keep a close enough eye on it and so it could have been dyeing, leveling up, resting or maybe saving that caused this.

The characters name is Valaeron Windfinder if you need to check him out to find out what caused this.

edit - Well, just logged back in and the SR and Wis are back thought the Wis is still a bonus. Don't know what happened.

edit - I paid attention this time and it seems that the abilities disappear when I rest. If I die and come back or if I reload the game then they I have the SR and Wis when I start off. Seems like the game sees them as spell effects that you begin with but wear off as soon as you rest. Just my guess.

Silk changed the wisdom to be a decrease instead of an increase. He's going to find the best way to fix the bug where it resets after resting instead of doing a quick fix.
