Me Vian, Jozan, and another person were playing around 8 pm pst when we timed out.

upon recconect we found ourselves in the underdark, which i take to mean that that area is nearing release, cool!

However, some bad things happened.

Vian spawned in teh underdark after he connected stripped of all of his gear and it was no where to be found.

My character Sammy went from level 2.5 (2000 exp + some change) and 300 gp back to his starting point, 0 exp, level 1, 70ish gold.

Is there any way vian can get his stuff back, and me my level and a half?

thanks

thanks for posting this twiggy.

and I figured out why everyone got screwed... its becaues the server time warped back...

and it just so happen that it time warped back to a time when I died.

Now we all know from our UO experience what a time warp feels like.... didn't expect to feel that again while in NWN!!!

anyways,

I lost my Mikona city guard half plate
(which are bugged by the way... when you die they return as normal half plate)

Mikona guard heavy gauntlets

Greatsword + 1

and a sling + 3 which I was lucky enough to get in combat.

Those were the biggest ticket items the rest of the stuff is replaceable since I still have my gold.

but those items I would like to have back please.

Thanks

Whenever you join the server you spawn in teh underdark, or at least I do.

off topic but the dying/death script is workign normaly for me now. I stop losing hit points when i die. YAY.

Yeah, I forgot to set the start point back when I published it. But as soon as it restarts it will be back. We'll compensate your items I guess, but I didn't know that kind of thing could happen from a timeout.

I replaced their stuff (or most of it).

The timwarp probably occured because my computer blue screened and i had to cold boot. server vault characters apparently did not save (at least for the people logged in).

Did the server warp again? Seems like I've lost most of the day here.

I just logged in and I've lost 3300+ xp, a +1 short sword and random gear. Not sure how much gold I had. Any chance of getting the xp back at least?

The character name is Balain Many Pockets btw.

Hey guys, I don't have a problem giving back lost stuff, and I know that the server crashes on occasion... this causes time warps (I guess but I'm not sure how).

In any case, it's REALLY darn easy to save your character every once in a while. Know what I mean? There' s no reason why you should lose 15000 exp to a server crash because you should be manually saving every time you level AT LEAST, if not every time you get a decent amount of exp.

So the message is "SAVE", and "SAVE OFTEN", k? It will make it a lot easier on Silk and I because we won't have to stop what were doing (expanding the world) in order to compensate people, and it will be alot less of a heartache for YOU.

I swear to you all that once the patch comes out for the server crash bug(s), we will turn the autosave on and this won't happen quite as often, but until then, treat it like you're writing a 10 page paper and you don't want to lose it to a power outage.

Well, your advice is sound, infact as soon as i went back on, saving occured often, if not too much in both myself and the party i was with as a whole, got back more than the 15000 :), so it's all good
