In game noticeboards

PostAuthor: Ulu Elexin » Sun Sep 17, 2017 6:44 pm

As a Mikona fan, I usually lurk around the city and I like to check out the noticeboards every few weeks or so for anything that others have written in game. I've used the noticeboards myself a couple of times, but I've never had anything happen as a result of messages posted there.

I wanted to ask the community if you all know about these noticeboards, if you use them, and if not, why not?

No, never is what I voted. I have perhaps checked them once a year on average? Sometimes there is funny shit written there though. :D

Can you elaborate, Mo? Why don't you ever use them? No reason to? Or prefer to use the forums for posterity's sake?

People hardly use the forum's public IC discussion boards for public IC discussion these days, so why would the IG ones get used? :P

A few were trying, after the Where is the Hot Avlis Action? topic stuff, but I think they are already forgetting it.

I don't see an option here for - I use to way back when, and then I used them when I got bored and then I stopped using them because I had other things to do and they were cumbersome and unused.

Also isn't there a limit to how many can be shown? I would hate to write up a whole thing (which would trail off the screen so you best hope it's typed correctly) just to have it bumped off in a day or two by newer posts?

I only commented because Ulu scares me

Life is never as bad as you think it is, although that doesn't help at the time.

I sometimes poke around them. When I remember to, and there aren't any posts important to lore that I might bump off, I even like to post little secrets on the boards. Usually really low level crafting recipes with a part or two missing to get newbs started.

I almost always check the Mikona Boards with Grace when I wander through town. I don't think I've checked any other server ones though.

Usually, the only time I check them out is when I stop in the City Gate Inn with a new character. It's always buy a map, check the board.So... Maybe a few times a year?

I voted No, Never. I would say because they tend to be in out of the way Inns, which I never feel any need to visit at all. Perhaps if they were in a main thoroughfare such as Zvid, The rock etc. then I would check them more.

~ Bumps, blows off all the dust ~

Yeah, so they have a history of the last 10 people to post. I'm not sure what the character limit is - you can't write a novel, but you can post a short whatever/note pointing to something on the forums, but as the consensus is, no, they aren't used, I'll stop checking them as much as I used to. :(

Know that I enjoy seeing any new posts there when I do check though people, and keep them in mind for your IC communications! :)

If you don't have a secret forum group they can make a decent semi-secret posting place these days. *nodnod*
