Any monks about?

PostAuthor: Deider » Tue Jun 13, 2017 9:26 pm

So my character Gram Jamjeans used to be in the Order of the Dragon. This was back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and they didn't have guild housing yet. A nice player took Gram to their monastery last night - really well done building, by the way - and it made me both nostalgic, because the guild and the PCs/players in it had a big effect on Gram's character development, and sad, because the place is empty now. So I was just curious if there were any other players who would be interested in getting together to do "monk stuff" - meditating, making beer/wine/other items, beating the shit out of things with our fists, etc.

I don't really care how many monk levels your PC has. Gram's a 13/10/10 monk/fighter/rogue right now, so it's not like I can judge any other PCs on their "level of monkitude." I'm more interested in the RP aspect of it.

I'm also not necessarily talking about reviving the Order of the Dragon (though part of me would like to do so) - right now I'd just like to know if there are any other monk-type PCs about who'd like to get together sometime.

I have a monk! I'd happily bring him out to play if there are Monk-y times afoot.
Your password must contain at least 8 letters, a capital, a plot, a protagonist with good character development, a twist, and a happy ending.

Ehren is around and even went out on a low level crump with the Dire cock and friend recently. I'm keen to get together for monkish kind of stuff. I'm as yet unsure if that includes membership in an order.

I have a monk...still Order of the Dragon, possibly the last of them. He's still on once in a while, but not very often, and rarely hanging out with people topside (thanks to the Bioware Detect Alignment graphics)

Thanks for all of the replies! I just posted a monk gathering on the calendar - hopefully it's at a time that people can attend. I figured the Order of the Way's a good place for an inaugural meeting since it's less remote than the Order of the Way monastery and it's close to some areas we can "train."

Thanks for everyone who joined Gram for some "monkyshines" this past weekend. I'll put up another event shortly. Non-monks are welcome as well - we had one character last week who was "watching & learning" and it added to the fun!

I'm cancelling the meeting which we were gonna have in an hour, since it's overlapping with a DM event so I doubt anyone will show up. Hopefully we can do one next weekend.

Hi everybody!

Sorry there hasn't been a monk gathering lately - my family is back from vacation so I am trying to find a time during the weekend that won't interfere with "family time." I've posted an event for tomorrow on the calendar (sorry for the short notice) - if that time of day doesn't work well for people, next week I'll try something different.

These are in the wee hours of the morning for me...so unless I'm struck by a huge bout of insomnia, I'm probably going to miss a majority of them.

They are 6am Sundays for me, 9am for the east coast and... afternoon for Europe?

Now that my son's started school, I could also do late night PST on Sunday, after he's gone to bed, say 11pm start time. Would that work for you?

I don't mind starting at different times, or rotating among two or three start times each week.

We're in the same time zone...but usually up late and in bed early on sundays. A bit later start would help, yeah. Depending on other events and how they pan out

Another monk event posted!! As always monk lovers are also welcome! :D

calendar.php?view=event&calEid=2146

It's a different start time than the past few events. If turnout is decent then we can alternate back and forth with the start times.
