Distance question

Anyone remember the diameter of Elysia? I cannot remember the size accurately. Was it 2km?

If you made Elf Gate authentic to NWN Elf Gate... you've probably scarred them for life. :P

Yeah we'll gloss over that until they get much older. }8)

I just had a fun romp searching through the forum history, seeing newbie Solveig post and stuff, but I found nothing concrete for Elysia's size within my short attention span.

All I've got is info from the revised Avlis book and math I can do from that. Elysia is a city-ability scoree that covers thirty square miles around Champion's Keep. I assume that means the farmlands and everything, not the walled city itself. It's listed as having 215,000 residents, with the highest population I found on a skim being 300,000.

So.. 30 square miles = 77.6996 square km around Champions Keep. With a diameter of 2km the city itself would only take up around 3.14 square km or 4% of the area it controls (if my math is right.) At that size in case of an attack 300,000 citizens could fit inside the empty walls with about 10.5 square meters to each person, or 113 square feet.

So, um... sounds reasonable unless someone can uncover the actual number somewhere else?

It does sound reasonable. I'm just making sure we don't have any obvious claims about it. I'm hopefully going to get a scan of the original graph paper layout from Vanoviel after he gets back from a trip.

Those numbers sound right.
