technical questions about dominators

PostAuthor: Stravento » Wed Mar 26, 2008 1:55 pm

I have read their description on the wiki and one of their feature is to have magic resistance. I have seen that at a certain level they receive "diamond soul" and the "improved magic resistance feat".

I have a question:

Does diamond soul considers the Dominators level? (I have read on nwnwiki that is supposed to give 10+level magic res. to a monk). From the wiki it seems not (the wiki says that the total mr of a Dominator at level 10 is 20, if it would consider its levels it should be 30, 20 from diamond soul and 10 from the feats.)

thanks
Straccio, Sha-ek, Elil, Arrrco, Gisa, Marco Der'Cornero, Saurr Shorttail, Fasul

In the absence of a place where a genuine reinvention happens, an honest substitute will be a city that shelters a fiction of the reinvention that never occurred.

It will count any Monk levels you have, but not Dominator ones. They receive the Improved Spell Resistance feat so that the SR scales as they level, as it wouldn't otherwise.

Is this still true?

It's my understanding that this is still correct.

Yeah this is accurate. Hence why Monk/Dom builds have tended to be more prevalent to maximise on the classe's Glorious advantages in smacking down those naughty orc mages. The max SR you can get as a 10th+ non-monk Dominator is 22. A 20th lvl Monk with 10 lvls of Dominator could strut about with 42 SR. This is all on the wiki, but I missed most of it when starting out with my Dominator. Hope this helps :)

It does, thanks. This was a question that not many people had an answer to and I wanted to make sure it was correct. Thanks!
