death quests

PostAuthor: JollyOrc » Sun Feb 01, 2004 8:38 pm

Hi,

Janur died, out of pure kindness and stupidity (when a high Paladin falls, DON'T RUSH IN TO HEAL HIM!) and saw the Beastlands, with their death quest.

Nice.

I liked it.

But I would like to know something:

Is it wished that it's one of those options only:

a) do death quest, get XP back, respawn at temple.
b) get raised, get no XP back, come back at your corpse

I got sent to the temple immediately after completing the quest, no time to hang around, waiting for the Raise.

Or did I do something wrong, and there is an option c) I missed:

c) do death quest, hang around, then get raised or come back at temple, your choice.

Insights would be appreciated...

Afaik, only a) and b) are the current options. The c) option sounds quite reasonable though...

a) and b) are the only options available in almost all death planes, by design. The rules and characteristics of each plane are based on the Manual of the Planes.

Arborea. Paradise of free will and individuality in service of goodness. That's the only plane that lets you choose. In Elysium, you put the greater good above individuality. In the Seven Heavens, they know what's best for you. In the neutral planes, you're on your own, and in the hells, well, what do you expect really? :)

Actually, no. Aloro designed it. This was purely based on the Manual of the Planes.
