I'd love 7k XP a week.. please... pretty please.. any DM out there want to hit me with the cookie wand... I've an alt I haven't played for say 60 weeks - can I have (60*7000) a 420,000XP cookie please... Seriously, this would all go away if (1) XP were much easier to gain, and you could get them for...

And while we're talking about adding 'realism' to XP, can someone raise the horsoliches of letting rogues get XP for using rogue skills and casters getting XP for casting spells? Can rogues have XP for skills and casters for spells? Has anyone here actually played D&D PnP? All these syste...

Just on fairness - seems to me that there's a bigger unfairness when it comes to gold and items, that is a direct consequence of player age. The management (or Team, if you prefer) have steadily (or it fits and bursts, actually) made efforts to create a more sustainable economy, to reduce the reward...

[quote="Kerrick"] You can get to L20 in under a month (no shit - a former DM said he watched someone do it), and people are hitting L40 in 13, 14, 15 months now. [quote] HOLY SH*T!   Sorry, but 20 levels in a month. Really? Pick me up off the floor. I can understand if that was...

...actually Fatty Bolger who's been powergaming while Frodo and pals were rp'ing in Rivendell. While I agree with the rest of this post, it (obviously) needs to be pointed out again, that sitting-around-talking DOES NOT EQUAL roleplay. Think about the example given. Samwise Gamgee is a 'local' - he...

One simple idea for one example might be to reward reading in libraries (character is area designated as a library, displaying the reading animation)... There exists ingame now a way to do something almost identical. Rewarding XP for "idle hours" is unrealistic when Alt-Tab exists, though. -spool32...

A slight aside from the thread, but to pick up an earlier comment... there's more to role-playing than standing around elf-gate chatting. In fact, for some (probably many) PCs, this kind of action (particuarly with the motley collection of assembled PCs) is decidedly *not* in character, and so is no...

There is a an XP cap per kill of your level times ten or 200, whichever is smaller. Wow - I can only think of a handful of times where I've received more than my level in XP from a kill (e.g. more than 10XP for a lvl 10 char.). most of the time I get more like Lvl/10 (or worse) - I didn't even thin...

Anyone here remember "Argyle Online"?

Posting in the "what do want in NWN/Avlis 2" thread made me think about this PW. So I was wondering if anyone here played there at all - I only made it just before it died, and most of the players were out of my timezone, there was some good RP. I know it's long gone, but I'd love a local copy of th...

OK, so now I"m getting spam PM's!?!

Found this in my inbox this morning: Dear one I am writting this letter with due respect and heartful of tears since we have not known or met ourselves previously. I am asking for your assistance after I have gone through a profile that speaks good of you. I will be so glad if you can allow and lead...

Easiest solution is to use a pile of wood placeable and a flame placeable. Attach the on_off script (above) to the flame, and name the flame object 'fire' or something similar. Place the flame under the wood (adjust Z axis as required). What then happens IG is that the pile of wood (or whatever) app...

To put it another way, the colors you are "fixing" in your override are available as normal colors now in NWN. People are working on upgrading dyes and whatnot IG already. You can just dye your true black robes to the shade you have "fixed" in your override.. Not strictly true; even in the 1.67 pal...

The .zip file now has the the two files for metal armour - but only with the matt black replacing the absolute black (I left the white alone). Looks good with chainmail, and being non-glossy might be nice for sneaky types.

I'd have thought most people would know the client-side nature of the override folder, particularly as this is simply a replacement for an existing override . Once the override becomes obsolete, as the bow-string override now has, anyone who chooses to use it can then delete it. I'm sorry you take a...

*sigh* Or you could just wait for updated in-game dyes and change your items in-game. Also, realize that only players with these files vomited into their override will see any difference -- most everyone else will see you wearing flat colours. http://www.avlis.org/viewtopic.php?t=81296&highlight= L...

Really? I thought people seemed to like the absolute darkeness of black armour (or the white equivalent)? I'll have a look - it should be easy enough just to copy the colours across from the leather/cloth files, but no idea whether it'll look 'right' for metal. Edit: I've had a look, and I'm not sur...

1.67 colour palette override.

Updating to 1.67 gives access to a shed-load of additional colours, but you wont get to see them if you have these files: mvpal_cloth.bmp mvpal_leather.bmp pal_cloth01.tga pal_leather01.tga in your override directory (these are a pre-1.67 edit of the colour palette). These files should be deleted, b...
