Avlis $100 Dungeon Building Contest!
Contest runs from Nov. 20th 2009 to January 20th 2010. We will not accept dungeons downloaded from the vault and sent to us, but if you already have a suitable dungeon you' d like to submit, feel free. For purposes of the contest a dungeon will be considered a self-contained area with a single clear entrance and exit and otherwise unconnected to the module. Submissions should be complete and ready for QA testing. Please feel free to contact us or check the Avlis Wiki for any setting-specific information you may need. This step can be quite important for smooth integration of your area into the game world, so please grab any staff member in our IRC channel #avlis on stratics.frws.com, or email staff@avlis.org with any questions. Builders will remain anonymous until the contest ends. We may request edits for continuity or balance purposes. If you've never built for Avlis before, please contact us for more detailed suggestions on how to get your dungeon through the QA process in a grief-free manner.
On Jan 20th we will take the top 3-5 modules (depending on submission volume) and submit them to our QA team. As QA is completed, they will be added into the live game. We will open voting once all three (or five) modules are live, and each player will get a single vote each for 1st and 2nd favorite. 15 days after the voting opens, we will close the polls and announce the $100 prize winner! |
Guidelines
Area total: no less than 5, no more than 15.
Area size: exterior max 12x12, interior max 10x10
Max new NPCs: 20
Max CR: should not exceed 40
Max new items: 5
Naming Convention: All areas, items, and NPCs must have a 'foig_*' name.
No heartbeat scripts allowed.
Quest rewards must conform to CoPaP item reward guidelines - please contact staff@avlis.org with questions.
